…and the weather forecast is for good weather! We had 3 beautiful weddings last weekend and 3 beautiful brides. Last night we had all the doors open and the most perfect evening – and sods law, not a bride in sight. Ah well, we did have a buffet meal for a local school which was a good way for them to start off their new year.
Don’t forget fish and chips Friday night – the fish will be so fresh we don’t even know what it is yet because it hasn’t been caught! Kevin Clark and Fran barton will be playing their lovely blend of jazz, soul and blues and I can guarantee Fran can create her own sunshine
We have Kevin Clark and Fran Barton playing and singing their best jazz, soul and blues on Friday 27 January and you get to eat the freshest fish and chips in town, with awesome (oarsome – it’s a rowing club joke) with a yummy glass of wine, listening to the bestest music for $20! Kev and Fran start 6.30pm
On Friday 10 February it’s swing-time with Hot Club Sandwich (I can’t bring myself to call them ‘swingers’) and for a $15 cover charge and an optional $20 3 course meal you get original jazz and an evening to remember. Starts 6.30pm
On Sunday 19 February Jackie Bistrow is stopping by the Jetty as part of her NZ wide tour. Check her out on www.jackiebistrow.com She is a NZ alt-country/rock singer who lives in Texas and has opened for Tommy Emmanuel and John Oates in 2011. In past years she has opened for Art Gufunkel and Phoebe Snow. She is a ‘class act with a slinking sexy voice and her deftly blended rock-country-folk song writing. She can do Texas rock as well as the good ole boys but she can also reduce an audience to pin-drop silence as she sings an A Capella version of Aotearoa, a love song to her homeland. One thing is certain, Jackie Bistrow can dig deep and bare her soul’. $15 cover charge $20 optional meal available. Starts 6.30pm
