We have a birthday celebration on Friday night with a meal for 125 people from 6.30pm so there is no usual fish and chip night. SORRY. Saturday night we have another birthday but it is a bit of a party and won’t start until about 8pm so you are welcome for dinner - we won’t throw you out! We are open all the rest of the weekend – lets hope that frosty weather is just a trick.
Fish and chips most Friday nights where you get the best beer-battered fish and chips with a choice of fish – sometimes groper, snapper and butterfish. All served with lemon, tartare, fries and a glass of house sav, chardonnay or red or a house beer or juice. All for $20. Kids get any meal off the kids menu, a kids drink and a sundae – all for the princely sum of $10.
We have the fishermans breakfast every weekend where our lovely fish is served eggs bene style with an english muffin, poached eggs and hollandaise. This weekend it is snapper – and it is bloody great. We also have Greytown bangers and mash with brown onion gravy. Now that is a blast from the past – comfort food extraordinnaire.
And just to bang on (because I have no music to talk about this week) have you tried our pear and parsnip soup with an optional topping of blue cheese. Its amazing – even if the thought of a parsnip leaves you cold – try this! I promise you – it’s good. And we have what the kids call ‘Mac and cheese’ – good ol’Macoroni cheese Mmmmmmmmmmmm
